Police have arrested two serial thieves for their alleged involvement in stealing property from business units and residential houses during the night in Kathmandu valley, the Metropolitan Crime Division said.A team deployed from the Division, arrested Buddha Bahadur Tamang (29) and Sujan Tamang (33) both hailing from Nuwakot district, on Wednesday.Police seized Rs 1,99,000 cash, jewellery, ornaments, and metal bars used in the crime from their possession.
The suspects have confessed to their involvement in the crime, according to police. After a preliminary investigation, police have revealed that the duo had robbed houses in Balaju, Guheshwari, Manamaiju Lolang, Hattiban in Lalitpur among other places in the valley. Meanwhile, police have charged them under theft case and sent them to Metropolitan Police Circle, Balaju for further investigation and action today itself.
Police who were investigating property theft case worth Rs 1.84 million in Tarkeshwor Municipality led them to arrest the two suspects. Earlier, police were looking for suspects who barged into houses, financial institutions and co-operatives by breaking padlocks after damaging CCTV cameras during night.
